As your Congressman, I will bring significant governmental, community and leadership experience to Congressional District 10.
Family & History
I have lived in Linden, NJ all of my life. I live with my wife Danie, and have five beautiful children, Erika, Brianna, Ryan, Ashton and Abigail.
Political Career
In November, 2014, I was elected to the Mayoral Office and started my tenure as Mayor on January 1, 2015. Before that, I served as a Linden City Councilman in the 4th Ward from 1993 through 2014. As a Community Leader, I learned that change happens when individuals take responsibility for one another and their communities. I am a strong advocate of fairness, equal educational and economic opportunities for all residents.
Success Stories
I believe in a government of the people, for the people, and by the people. With input from my constituents, my plans for tax stabilization, my aggressive efforts to reduce crime, to increase economic stimulation for job creation, and downtown revitalization have streamlined government operations in Linden. As your Congressman, I plan to expand on that success and enable all CD10 residents to enjoy tax stabilization, job creation, economic development and better education for our children.

Charity Work
Together with my wife Danie and my sister Lisa, we founded the Armstead Scholarship Fund for graduating Linden High School Seniors. We strongly believe that without a quality education, not only do our young people have less access to job opportunities, but they are more likely to be involved with the criminal justice system.
Education & Work Experience
I graduated from Linden High School in 1979 and studied computer science in Union County College. I started my technology career at Prudential Insurance Company, where I worked in the Computer Operations & Telecommunications Division. I then was employed as a programmer for Union County’s Data Processing Department.
